I've just received my copy of The Year's Best SF - 22nd Annual Collection edited by Gardner Dozois; possibly the definitive anthology of the year. At the end of the book he has a section called Honourable Mentions where he lists stories that didn't quite make the cut for inclusion in the book, but which nevertheless are worthy of seeking out and reading.

And there, in the Honourable Mentions it says:

Peter Friend, "The Christmas Tree", Asimov's December

Well done Peter! Many congratulations. That is just fantastic and I'm thrilled for you.
